Senior A Captaincy Update ...

Dear members,

I hope everyone has enjoyed more than enough weekends without a cricket match, and is eagerly anticipating pre-season and our first fixtures in a few weeks’ time. Preparations are well underway for the new season, as you will see from the notices below, and I look forward to catching up with everyone once I finish dodging the winter in the UK.

As you know, earlier in the winter I announced that Robin James would replace Jimmy Carr as our Senior captain for the forthcoming season. Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, Robin is now unable to take up that role. As a result, the Committee met last week to consider alternatives, and I am delighted to announce that Ryan Hawkins has agreed to take on the captaincy. On behalf of the Committee and the club, I’m grateful to Ross Hastings for leading the discussions, and to Ryan for stepping in at relatively short notice, and am sure all our members will join me in congratulating him on his appointment, and wishing him well for the season. We are confident he will provide outstanding leadership to our top team, and look forward to seeing his side in action in October.

Best wishes, Dave Monger, MPCC President.
