Men's Cricket

It is a cliché to say that MPCC has a team for every age and every calibre of cricketer. However, the cliché is very true in this case.

MPCC enters more teams into the Suburban competitions than any other Suburban club. We like to think that this means we are looking after our player well and providing them with an enjoyable environment to play their cricket.

The top two men’s teams – Senior A and Senior B – play a good standard of cricket in highly competitive leagues. Other teams exist through the grades to ensure that our cricketers play at a level that matches their ability while providing a competitive environment.

The Senior A team has proven itself to be one of the most competitive teams in the top league of Senior Suburban cricket over the last two years. The side has good all round strength, is a good fielding unit, and has a great team spirit.

One of the bonuses of playing in the top team is that it provides you with the opportunity to be selected for the Suburban Representative team. This is a great opportunity to play cricket at a higher level.

The club employs Paul O'Brien as a Coaching Co-ordinator. Paul is at all the practices to ensure that they run smoothly. He is also there to help solve any of those technical issues that might be holding you back..

Suburban cricket affords you the opportunity to play in some of the most pleasant cricket grounds in Christchurch . None are more pleasant than our home ground of Edgar Macintosh Park .

In the 2007/2008 season, MPCC fielded 8 teams in the Suburban men's competition with at least one team in every grade from Seniors to 4C. Teams this year will be strictly determined based upon sign-ups at registration day so if you are interested, and want to be in a team, make sure you come along.
